It’s almost here! One more day!

Tigress By the TailTigress by the Tail’s official release date is 1 March, but if you search the recesses of the internet, you may find it popping up early!  Yes, the re-release of Tigress by the tail is so close you can touch it!!  I’m quite excited.  I can’t wait to see what my old fans think of the changes and am so excited to get to offer this book to those who have found me within the last year!  Tigress by the Tail is the first book in the Maxey Wizard series.  wizards and shifters?  Why yes, they do go well together!  Just check it out.

And isn’t that the most awesome cover ever???  Trisha Pickett Smith did  a superb job, don’t you think?

So here’s a fun excerpt to wet your appetite.

Mine.

The word bounced through his brain. He couldn’t wait until he could be with her where he could touch her.  He needed to run his hands over every part of her body to make sure she was unhurt. His gaze dropped and rested on her lips. Such beautiful, full lips, and they called him, like everything else about her. He ached to taste her. Her eyes were dark and hungry, and she leaned toward him. He wanted to stop, to evaluate his feelings, but instinct forced his thoughts aside.

The danger surrounding them melted into a barely memorable photograph. It didn’t matter. He had to taste her or he would go mad. Sensual hunger and masculine power surged inside him with electrifying force. A fierce possessiveness ripped through his restraint, and he snapped. His hands tangled in her beautiful mane of hair, dragging her toward him. Her eyes flashed, but not in anger. In lust. When his lips crashed down on hers, the sound she emitted wasn’t of disgust or fury, but was frustration and need.

He growled into her throat, drew her up, pressing her against the cold hard wall. She didn’t fight. She didn’t push him away. Instead, her arms wrapped about his neck, her body arching into his. He devoured her, every inch he could reach. Her taste was sweet, with the tart zip he found so erotic, like the driest of wines, intoxicating and rich. The softness of her curves melted against his hardened body. A groan shoved its way out of his throat and he pushed against her to hide the tremor running through him. His hands caressed the softness of the skin hidden only by his trench coat, and when her body shuddered, he growled his approval.

Never had he hungered for any woman with such overpowering force. Her hands were driving him insane, fluttering along his chest, down his arms, and to his waist. Every touch drove him to greater heights. Like the skydiver, he knew he would fall, and fall fast, any second. Restraint was only so strong. With an effort at control, he tangled his fingers in her hair and jerked her head back. She growled in response, her eyes glazed with her own hunger. Her hands tugged him toward her.

“We have to stop,” he murmured. Something was wrong, this wasn’t like him.  Women were to be treated with gentleness and sweetness.  Or had been before this moment. Cassie ripped away his sensitive nature. With her, the urge to possess, to mark her in some primitive fashion, was overwhelming.

She nodded, but didn’t stop. She nipped his lower jaw, her fangs exposed just enough to feel the sharp jab in his skin. He growled, yanking her head back again, glaring at her mouth. So soft, and so sharp all at once. The mixture of innocence and aggression ripped the last shred of his self-restraint and his mouth crashed on hers. He gave no mercy, controlling everything about her. He released her hair only to grab her hands, to push them above her head. The trench coat dropped to the floor and she stood before him, naked, her heart and body exposed.

Cover Friday – Mary Abshire

What a fascinating cover.  The shadowy feel, The mystery. I do love this one.

Love, trust, and loyalty are on the line for half-     demon Jessie Garrett as she aims to free herself
from the demon she owes a debt to, help an
  irresistible Alpha, maintain her steamy
relationship with her vampire lover, and save
  her own life.

1.  What was your first impression of your cover when it arrived in the email? Did you pet the screen for a while? Wow!

Or did you rush to frame it?

Nah, didn’t do anything like that. I just marvel at it for a while. :o)
.

2.  What does your book cover say about your book? What special feature does it point to that tells the reader to snatch this up right away to read?

The cover shows a werewolf which tells the reader the soul catcher is going after a werewolf this time and the hunk on the cover lets them know he’s a hunk too :cheerful:

3.  So tell me a little about your cover artist?  Do you know if he or she has a webpage? If so, do you have the link?

Fiona Jayde is the artist. She does have a webpage, www.fionajayde.com She always comes up with great covers! I love her work.

4.  What feedback have you gotten back from readers?

My friends tell me they really like it. Haven’t heard from readers yet since the book isn’t out until Today!

Cover Friday – Pamela Turner

Welcome back to Cover Friday, and Welcome Pamela Turner, who’s new release Death Sword is the focus of today’s post.  What an intense cover!  Pick up your copy of Death Sword today!

The only thing more dangerous than an angel of death is one obsessed with vengeance.

Karla Black has always known she’s different from other people. She learns just how different after she’s fatally stabbed and brought back to life as a half-human angel of death.

With newfound power comes a newfound boss.

Samael despises her. He considers Karla impure and resents her relationship with her partner Xariel…who also happens to be Samael’s ex-lover. When he takes that hatred to a higher level, Karla vows vengeance – a task easier said than done.

With the loss of their angelic powers, Karla and Xariel face a dilemma – how will they defeat an unstoppable Samael, whose poisoned rapier can kill human and angel alike?

If Karla doesn’t awaken to her true identity, both heaven and earth are in danger of annihilation.

1.  What was your first impression of your cover when it arrived in the email?  Did you pet the screen for a while? Or did you rush to frame it?

Whoa, it’s so intense. And I like the model’s challenging stare. No, I didn’t pet the screen. LOL But I thought of printing the cover and framing it.

2.  What does your book cover say about your book?  What special feature does it point to that tells the reader to snatch this up right away to read?

The reader can expect this to be an intense read. The winged figure indicates this is a paranormal story and the city skyline implies it’s also an urban fantasy. The smoky black and red hues suggest the city is in danger. The figure rising above the skyscrapers may be a savior or destroyer. We don’t know but we want to find out.

 3.  So tell me a little about your cover artist?  Do you know if he or she has a webpage? If so, do you have the link?

Renee Rocco is the cover artist as well as the publisher, along with her husband, of Lyrical Press, Inc. One of the things that drew me to LPI was I loved the covers.

 4.  What feedback have you gotten back from readers?

People tell me they like it. And the cover definitely grabs people’s attention. It also won a “Clash of the Covers” challenge at Embrace the Shadows.

Pam is giving away one free PDF copy of this awesome looking book!  To enter, leave a comment below, so ask Pam a question, ask me a question, or just chitchat about life in general.  Okay, it probably SHOULD be something to do with books or book covers. LOL.

Friday Cover – Kim Bowman

I’d like to welcome Kim Bowman as our first “Cover of the Week”.  If you would like to participate and have your cover focused on Cover of the Week, email me at desertpetiri@aol.com

Book Covers, of course are no fun without a little bit of information about what lies within the pages.

When Zanna Seoul accidentally causes the death of a fellow spirit guide’s charge while trying to save the life of the man she loves, she is stripped of her position and banished to Earth to die. In the spirit world, one doesn’t mess with what’s written. With Zanna no longer guiding him and his memory of her erased, Owen Nash is left wide open as the target of the vengeful spirit guide who feels he’s been wronged. A guide who also happens to be a werewolf. Once on Earth, Zanna refuses to stand by and watch Owen die, so she intervenes again, setting off a chain of events that could mean death for all of them if she doesn’t go back and undo the mess she’s made. Can Zanna succeed before the werewolf does?

This cover has also been entered in the Author Meeting Place Book Cover contest!  Head on over to vote!

1.  What was your first impression of your cover when it arrived in the email? Did you pet the screen for a while? Or did you rush to frame it? I about fell off the chair! You know how you have an idea in your head of how you want something to look but it’s hard to translate onto paper? Apparently Elaina Lee is a mind reader because when I saw my cover it was EXACTLY what I wanted. It had all the elements that were essential to the story. The heroine, the hero, the werewolf! I still look at it at least a hundred times a day.

 2.  What does your book cover say about your book? What special feature does it point to that tells the reader to snatch this up right away to read? It shows the intense romance and the danger. We see a woman who always has to watch over her shoulder as she watches over the man she loves from above. And we see a very angry werewolf who wants revenge. Not to mention a hot hero who is looking at you like he can see into your soul.

3.  So tell me a little about your cover artist?  Do you know if he or she has a webpage? If so, do you have the link? The artist is Elaina Lee. She’s awesome! Check her out at her website http://elainalee.comand at her blog elaina-lee.blogspot.com. She has a book out right now from Noble Romance called Written in Blood and then she has First Kiss from Decadent Publishing coming soon. She also designs websites, blogs, marketing/promotional material.

 4.  What feedback have you gotten back from readers? Everyone LOVES the cover. I have had so much positive feedback just from the cover, the book blurb and the book trailer.

 5.  So that answers my next question: Do you have a book trailer to share with us that goes with your cover?  I sure do!

You can find out more about Kim and her books at the following sites:
