The story of the Petiri include the story of a family. From a small North Carolina town, five siblings and one cousin have special gifts all their own. Slowly they are dragged into the world of the Petiri, it's dangers and it's pleasures. First is Tamara, who meets Ramose in Egypt. Then Elizabeth, her distant cousin, a doctor, runs into the most handsome man of her dreams while attending a conference in Cairo. Then Tisana, tortured by dreams of evil and death, rape and murder. All are protected by Trey, an Air Force veteran, and local Sheriff. Tessica manages to lose her glasses at the most inopportune moment. And then there's Tori, who nearly loses her life in an automobile accident.

Each of these people have one thing in common. They dream of their future soul mate. But rather than dreaming of them today, for some odd reason they dream of them in their past lives. Or do they?
