Elizabeth Colclough was born to be a doctor. As a child she watched her best friend bleed to death in front of her very eyes. Determined to never let that happen again, Elizabeth poured her soul into her career, working to ensure every patient got the best possible care, no matter what. The more she learned about the human body, the faster she developed unexpected paranormal healing skills. Skills she thought were so rare she'd never see them in another human. But when she went to Egypt for a conference, she meets another who can do the same.

Mereruka was born to be a warrior, but when an unexpected prophecy indicates his Kha-Ib will be a healer, he turns his back on his heritage to learn the art of healing. When stranded upon a backward planet, he was the only one of his crew who seemed determined to not turn his back on his future. But when he meets his Kha-Ib for the first time, he never has a chance to find out her name, or where she lives. How will he find her if he doesn't even know her name?
